BioMa - BIODIVERSITY DATA MANAGER

project PDF Print E-mail
Project is a group of data that share similar features. For instance, a group of specimens collected by the same collector, may comprise a project. Or, all specimens collected under the same protocol may also be a project. Essentially, project is a group of data that you wish to recover at once.

The Project routine of BioMa is very useful, for instance, when you have a thesis composed by several chapters, each one being a different experiment. In this case, each project holds the data relative to a chapter.

Additionally, its is useful if your lab holds a single taxonomical collection, and each experiment run by the lab personnel adds some (but not all) of their specimens to the main collection. Under the Project routine, each experiment is a sub-project of the main collection.
